Jim Filson, Founder of Seven Points Marina passes away at age of 91

JAMES ALAN FILSON

James Alan Filson, 91, of Hesston PA, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at his residence. A New Year’s Baby, born January 1, 1925 in Altoona, he was the son of the late James Edward and Edna Filson, and reared by John and Laura Hanley, his maternal grandparents. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Margaret “Peg” Shaffer on September 24, 1951, in Winchester, VA. Mrs. Filson preceded him in death on December 3, 2007. Mr. Filson is survived by three children, BJ Filson and his wife, Ellen, Pauline Hetrick and her husband, Chris, and Pamela Prosser, all of Hesston. He also cherished his grandchildren, Melissa Filson, Benjamin Filson, Max Prosser & Jeremy Hetrick, all of Hesston. In addition to his parents and loving wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James A. Filson; and a sister, Janie D. Filson. Rest in peace, Jim... we all miss you.

Marina access is limited to slipholders and customers who have rented a boat.

To use marina facilities you must wear a face mask, practice social distancing, and follow the posted guidelines throughout the marina.
